Hundreds of hunters will scour the Everglades for cash prizes as a key window opens to stop one of Florida's most destructive invaders.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has announced the return of the Florida Python Challenge. This is a ten-day event in which people will compete to catch and kill the most invasive Burmese pythons in the Everglades.

The invasive pythons number in the thousands and have unleashed havoc across more than 1,000 square miles of the Everglades region ecosystem.
